ZTE 4G routers and hotspots (MF-series) usually use 192.168.0.1 instead. Older units used admin as the password.
Common ZTE models
ISP firmware changes defaults often. If a value here does not match, the label on your device takes priority.
| Model | IP | Username | Password | Type |

| ZXHN F660 (fiber ONT) | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin or on label | Fiber ONT |

How to log in to a ZTE router
1. Connect
Join the device’s Wi-Fi or connect an Ethernet cable to a LAN port.
2. Open the right address
ONTs and gateways: 192.168.1.1. 4G/5G routers and hotspots:
192.168.0.1. If neither loads, check the "Default Gateway" in your device’s
network details, or see our 192.168.0.1 guide.
3. Sign in
Enter the username (if asked) and the password from the label. On older firmware try
admin. Many models force a password change on first login.
Change the Wi-Fi password on ZTE
- Open Network → WLAN (ONTs and gateways) or Wi-Fi Settings (4G routers and hotspots).
- Go to the security section for each band.
- Choose WPA2-PSK (AES), or WPA2/WPA3 where offered, and enter a new key.
- Save and reconnect your devices.
Common ZTE problems
Only a few settings are visible
You are probably signed in with a limited user account set up by the ISP. Wi-Fi settings are usually available; advanced features such as bridge mode may require the ISP to change them for you.
4G router: signal but no internet
Check the APN, the SIM’s data plan and the signal readings in the device information page. Moving the router closer to a window often helps.
Frequently asked questions
What is the default ZTE router login?
It depends on the device family. ZTE fiber ONTs and DSL gateways (ZXHN F-series and H-series) usually use 192.168.1.1 with the username admin; older units commonly used admin as the password, while newer ones print a unique password on the label. ZTE 4G/5G routers and mobile hotspots (MF-series and MC-series) usually use 192.168.0.1 and ask only for a password: admin on older firmware, a label password on newer units. When an ISP supplied the device, it may have set its own credentials.
Are ZTE routers sold in the US?
Not as new networking equipment. Like Huawei, ZTE is on the FCC’s Covered List, and the FCC no longer authorizes new ZTE communications equipment for the US market. ZTE devices are very common elsewhere, where ISPs supply ZTE fiber ONTs, DSL gateways and 4G/5G routers, often with the ISP’s own branding and firmware.
My ISP-branded ZTE gateway rejects admin / admin. What now?
ISP-branded ZTE units often ship with a unique password on the label, or with a limited user account while the full admin account is reserved for the ISP. Check the label first (look for "Password", "Admin password" or "Web login"). If nothing there works, contact the ISP. Avoid a factory reset on a fiber ONT: it can remove the ISP’s provisioning and leave you without internet until they restore it.
How do I set the APN on a ZTE 4G router?
Log in at 192.168.0.1, open the network or mobile settings and look for APN. Switch from automatic to manual mode if the automatic profile does not connect, add a profile with the APN your carrier publishes for data devices, save it and set it as default. If the router shows signal but no data connection, a missing or wrong APN is the most likely cause.
